Maintenance tips for your Electrolux oven

Cleaning your Electrolux oven
If your Electrolux oven has a self-cleaning feature, follow the instructions in your owner's manual to activate it. Remove all racks and accessories from the oven before self-cleaning. This feature is available on some single integrated ovens. Pyrolytic ovens do not require any other chemical cleaners.

Clean your Electrolux oven regularly to keep the appliance and accessories in peak condition.

To clean the interior of your Electrolux oven

Step 1:    Take out any racks, steel plates or accessories from your oven. These will be cleaned separately.

Step 2:    Using a damp sponge remove any excess spills or food scraps from the interior of your oven.

Step 3:    Apply a natural cleaning solution by mixing a cup of baking soda and a small amount of water until it forms a paste. Generously apply cleaning paster inside your oven. Avoid the heating elements. Leave overnight. Alternatively, you can use Aktivo Easy Off Oven/BBQ Cleaner. It is non caustic and can effectively remove grease, oil and build up.

Step 4:    Clean oven racks using warm soapy water.

Step 5:    Wipe your oven clean using a damp cloth to remove the excess baking soda paste.

Step 6:    Replace oven racks.

Step 7:    Give the exterior of your oven a clean by wiping with a damp sponge. If you have a stainless-steel oven, you can lightly spray with Aktivo Stainless Steel Polish. The polish repels dirt and dust and removes finger marks for a long-lasting shine.

Replace your worn oven door seal
Do you find that your left overs are taking a long time to heat up or that your food is cooking unevenly? It could be a sign that your oven door seal needs replacing. Inspect your seal for signs of damage and wear and tear. To replace your door seal, peel off the old seal and once removed, clean the area with warm, soapy water. Fit your new door seal. Replace your globe
If your globe is blown, you can easily replace it. Just make sure to use a globe that is specifically designed for oven use, as standard globes cannot withstand high oven temperatures. To change your globe, firstly disconnect your oven from the power source. Unclip (or unscrew) the globe cover, remove the faulty globe. Then fit your new globe and reattach the globe cover.
